LAWTON – As discussed at the 5/26/20 Lawton City Council meeting,
applicable utility account holders will soon receive letters of instruction for
available courses of action concerning the payment of delinquent bills
incurred.
In mid-March, the City of Lawton suspended, via emergency proclamation,
the disconnection of water services due to non-payment in light of the
COVID-19 pandemic. With the expiration of this local proclamation, the Utility
Services Division will resume disconnecting water services for non-payment
after letters are mailed. Account holders may call 580.581.3308 and/or visit
Lawton City Hall, 212 SW Ninth Street, to make payment arrangements as
outlined in the letter.
The letter also specifies assistance available through the CARES Act Utility
Assistance program and provides instruction for applying for this assistance.
Effective 5/21/20, the City of Lawton adopted in full the State of the
Oklahoma's 'OURS' Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which can
